Computer Educational Support Initiative is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political, non-religious organization, borne out of the will and determination to affect and improve the quality of life of the Nigerian youth.
The organization believes that one major way to achieve this aim is by enhancing the availability and affordability of computer/Information Communication Technology education.
The primary target is the Nigerian youth – which forms the Nigerian future.
It is an investment into the future of the nation.
MISSION STATEMENT
To promote education through the use of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) facility and provision of Information & Communication Technology education to Nigerian youths.
GOAL
To make computer/ICT education available for Nigerian youths.
STRATEGIES
> Provision of computer facility and education for Nigerian youths
> Mass enlightenment campaigns on the need for computer education
> Provision of ICT Resource Centres in rural areas for the empowerment of young people
> Encourage, assist and support educational institutions in setting up ICT Resource Centres.
OBJECTIVES
The objects of the Computer Educational Support Initiative (CESI) are for the advancement of literary, scientific and educational purposes and in furtherance of this, the following literary, scientific and educational objectives shall be pursued:
- Creating a conducive Information and Communication Technology environment to acculturate Nigerian youths in educational institution with a view to meet the global ICT challenges.
- Introducing Information and Communication Technology training in all schools and colleges of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
- Orientating and or re-orientation and imbibing Information Communication and Technology training culture in educational and curricular studies of institutions of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
- Inculcation of computer culture among Nigerian youths.
- Organizing symposia, lecture, and training on Information and Communication Technology with a view to empowering Nigerian youth vis-à-vis meeting the global Information and Communication Technology educational and scientific demand.
- Organizing sponsors, scholarships, awards, literary and scientific debates and all forms of Information and Communication Technology promotion in all institutions of learning in Nigeria.
- Creating a supportive Information and Communication Technology educational environment and ensuring transferring same into computer culture both in Nigerian and other countries of the world.
- Provision of computer and Information and Communication Technology facilities for Nigerian youths.
- Entering into any arrangement with the Government of Nigeria or with any other governments or authorities State, local, municipal or any other; and to obtain from such governments or authorities all rights, concessions and privileges as may be conducive to the above mentioned purposes, or any of them.
- Promotion and provision of international Information and Communication Technology training exchange programme among Nigerian youths.
- Enhancing the actualization of the Millennium Development Goals of the United Nations through computer and Information and Communication Technology educational activities.
